When is the library open?
We are now open for limited days, hours, and occupancy. Please visit our Reopening page for more information and safety protocols that need to be followed.  

Do you offer curbside pickup?
Yes, we do offer curbside pickup. Check out our Curbside Service page for details on scheduling your appointment.

Are the book drops open?
Yes, the book drops are open. You can now return all of the materials you've been holding onto during this time.

I returned the materials I had checked out. Why are those items still listed on my account?
All returned library materials are being quarantined for a minimum of 4 full days before being checked in. These items will remain on your account until after the quarantine period is over. Please wait at least a full week for the items to be removed from your account.

How can I register for a library card?
To register for a library card, please fill out the online registration form: https://warrenlib.org/content/library-card-registration
If you are eligible for a library card (please see “Library Membership” for information about eligibility: https://warrenlib.org/content/policies), staff will provide you with a library card number which you can begin using immediately to access all online resources, including e-books. A library card will then be mailed to the address you provided. This is a full access card, but will expire in 3 months. Before it expires, please stop by the library with a current ID showing your address. We will verify your information and renew your card for the full two years.

How do I register for virtual library programs?
1. Go to warrenlib.org, the library's website.
2. Click on Event Calendar.
3. Find the event you want to attend and click on it.
4. A pop-up box appears with the program description. Click on View More at the bottom of that box.
5. Fill out the registration form and click on Submit.

When will in-person library programs resume?
All in-person library programs have been canceled for the indefinite future. Once the library re-opens, we will reevaluate programming based on current health recommendations. Can my organization reserve a meeting room?
For the forseeable future, there will be no public group meetings at the library. Thus, we are not accepting any reservations to use the meeting rooms.

How do I access e-books?

What will happen to my items on hold that are waiting to be picked up?
If you received notification that your items are ready to be picked up, you can schedule an appointment to pickup those items. See our Curbside Service page for details. All items on hold will be available for a 7 day pick-up window.

Are homebound services available?
Homebound services are being offered in a reduced capacity. Staff will be contacting our homebound members to discuss our modified services.

Are bookmobile services available?
Bookmobile services are not available. Once the library reopens, we will contact our usual Bookmobile stops to schedule our next visits.

Does the library have WiFi?
There is WiFi is available at all of our library buildings. You can access our Wifi from inside the building as well as from the safety of your car in our parking lots.

How can I request an ILL (Interlibrary Loan)?
At this time, our Interlibrary Loan services remain suspended. All libraries in New Jersey are temporarily closed to the public, and we are unable to lend or borrow books from other libraries. At this time, we anticipate ILL being resumed in October.

Do you accept book donations? 
At this time, we are not accepting book or DVD donations. You might want to check with local thrift stores to see if they are accepting donations.

Can I use my library card at any branch?
You can use your library card at any of our four branches. We also participate in Open Borrowing, which means you can use your card at over 75 northern NJ libraries.

How do I access my account online?
Visit our website, https://warrenlib.org, and click on 'My Library Account' in the top left corner. You will be prompted to enter your library card number (without spaces) and PIN (typically the last 4 digits of your phone number). From here, you can view your account information, including all items on hold and items checked out. 

How do I look up a book on the computer?
In our catalog, https://warrenls2.org, enter your search terms in the space at the top of the page.  You can enter either the title, author, or subject of the item you want.

How can I place an item on hold?
Locate the item in our online catalog and click on "Place Hold."  A box will come up asking for your library card number and PIN (usually the last four digits of your phone number).  Enter this information, after which a box will come up asking you to choose the location where you want to pick up the item.  Select your location and submit.  You will be notified when the item is available for you to pick it up.

What is my PIN number?
Your PIN number is the last four digits of the phone number on file for your account unless you have changed it. To reset your PIN, please call any of our library branches.

How many items can I check out?
You can check out up to 50 items on your library card! For media, such as DVDs, audiobooks, music CDs, and video games, you can check out up to 10 each at a time.

Can I renew materials online?
Yes! As long as no one is waiting for the item, you may renew items twice. First, visit our website https://warrenlib.org. Click on 'My Library Account' in the top left corner. You will be prompted to enter your library card number and PIN (hint: the PIN is typically the last 4 numbers of your phone number. To reset your PIN, please contact the library). Once logged in, click on 'View Loans' to look at all the items you have currently checked out on your card. From here, you may renew items.

Can I use the Local History Collection?

You can schedule an appointment to use the Local History Room at our Headquarters. Appointments are for one hour and are available on Wednesdays when Headquarters is open to the public. Call 908-475-6322 to schedule an appointment.
